Bid for Harry Hill’s Art from London Calling

You can bid for Harry’s artwork being exhibited at the Ray Lowry exhibition London Calling.

Harry’s piece, shown below, is available for auction, with a guide price of £2000+VAT, alongside other artwork from the exhibition, including that of Harry’s wife, Magda Archer. The price list for the auction is available here.

The triple Bafta award winning comedian, author and television presenter began his career on the popular radio show Harry Hill’s Fruit Corner. In recent years he has become a household television name presenting Harry Hill’s TV Burp. Hill has won 2 British Comedy Awards as well as being listed as one of the 50 funniest acts in British Comedy.

He wrote his first novel in 2002, Flight from Deathrow following Tim the Tiny Horse in 2007 and The Further Adventures of the Queen Mum

TV Burp makes shortlist for TV Choice Awards

TV Burp has made the final short list for the TV Choice Awards 2010.

TV Burp, nominated in Best Entertainment Show, is up against Alan Carr: Chatty Man, Celebrity Juice and QI. You have got until midnight on 9th July to vote, so visit TV Choice’s website.

The awards will be presented by Alexander Armstrong on 6th September.

Harry Hill to Open Motcomb Street Summer Party

Harry will be opening this year’s Motcomb Street Summer Party later this month.

The party, which has been running for over 20 years, is to raise funds for charities and last year, raised over £38,000. This year, the party is supporting the Household Cavalry Operational Casualties Funds and Honeyput, which help children that are careers.

The party runs on 30th June from 5.30pm til 11pm and Harry will be officially opening the party at approximately 6pm. The event will also include an auction, DJ, special guests, music and much more.

London Calling for Harry Hill’s Art

Harry is involved in a new exhibition in London this summer, which will be exhibiting some of his art.

Ray Lowry: London Calling, which runs until 4th July, is a retrospective of Ray Lowry’s paintings, sketches, photographs and personal notebooks , alongside which 30 guest contributors, including Harry, are exhibiting their own new interpretations of the seminal 1979 The Clash London Calling album cover, which Ray designed. Other guest contributors include Keith Allen, Arthur Smith, Nick Hornby, Tracey Emin and Magda Archer, Harry’s wife.

Harry Hill Hosts Comedy Art Forum

As part of Rude Britannia, Harry will be hosting a special Comedy Art Forum to discuss the exhibition and its themes.

The event will include a mix of stand up and art with guests including Shawn Lock and Gail Tuesday. The event will take place on 15th July between 7 and 10.30pm, with tickets at £15 (Tate concession £13).

Harry Hill and Rude Britannia has been all over the BBC!

  • Harry has been interviewed Nicola Stanbridge for BBC Radio 4′s Today in relation to his Absurd room at Tate’s Rude Britannia. The interview is available from BBC.co.uk.
  • BBC News has also had David Sillito look around the exhibition with Harry. The video is available via BBC News.
  • Harry spoke to Jo Good, covering for Lauren Laverne on BBC Radio 6 Music, which is available through the radio version of BBC iplayer.

Camp Bestival Gets Rude With Tate Films

Camp Bestival, curated by Radio 1′s Rob da Bank and sister to the popular Bestival on the Isle of Wight, will be enjoying some special films selected by Harry Hill from the Rude Britannia exhibition.

The festival on the weekend of 30th July and 1st August, will also feature a lecture from the curator of Rude Britannia Cedar Lewisohn. A selection of films, selected by Harry and the Tate curators, will also be on show during the festival.

Harry does Comedy at the Cafe

Harry will be performing at the Comedy Cafe later this month.

Harry will be joined by Drew Barr, Adam Bloom and Matt Boylan at the Comedy Cafe on 25th June for a night of comedy to celebrate 20 years in the business. Tickets are available for £20, the doors open at 6pm and the show starts at 8pm.

Good Luck to Harry Hill Impersonator Paul Burling from HHF

Good luck to Harry Hill impersonator and impressionist Paul Burling in tonight’s Britain’s Got Talent final from HHF. It is going to be a tough final – who will win? There is only one way to find out…vote!

Unreality TV has reported on Harry’s support for Paul:

Paul told The Sun: “An ITV boss came up to me and said, ‘Harry sends his regards from Spain and he thinks you are brilliant, maybe we can do something together?’.

“I was like ‘Wow, brilliant’. He is there on one of the biggest programmes on TV.”

In other news, Coronation Street will return on Monday, so no more Best of TV Burp for the moment.
