The nuts, which were inspired by Paul’s own Fairtrade endeavour, Newman’s Own salad dressing, help farmers in Malawi and receive a share of the profits, and are available in salted peanuts and cashews. They are now available in Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, vending machines, university cafés and other outlets.
On the endorsement, Harry Hill has said:
My wife always wanted me to be more like Paul Newman! But seriously Paul Newman was a great example to us all. Not just a brilliant actor and icon but who knew he would make such a tasty Salad Dressing too?
A spokesman for the Newman’s Own Foundation, which has donated over £500,000 in grants to charities in the UK and Ireland, said:
We are delighted that Newman’s Own was the inspiration for Harry’s Nuts! which benefits smallholder farmers in Malawi and Mozambique.
