Web Burp – Bye bye 2010!

Here are the last few articles on Harry from 2010 that we didn’t have time for and a few new bits from 2011:

  • Harry Hill has won Best Comedian at The Sun’s Bizarre Awards 2010. For more, visit The Sun.
  • The Sun, The Guardian, Unreality TV and Sunday Mercury has commented on the ratings for the Best of Christmas TV Burp, with the Express recommending it.
  • The Press in York has reported that staff at Marks and Spencer have raised money for local charity SNAPPY through various activities including their own version of “Where Has The Knitted Character Been This Week?.”
  • Iain Hollingshead of The Telegraph has suggested that going bald ain’t bad when talking about Gordon Ramsey’s alleged hair transplant, citing Harry as a baldie!  The Scotsman have also been discussing baldness and Harry as well.

  • Richard Marks, global CEO of Kantar Media Audiences, has given his view on TV ratings measurement in an interesting article for Marketing Week, citing an episode of TV Burp in October, which received an ok 5.7m, had an impressive 10.7m when repeats and PVR playback was taken into account.
  • Harry’s website has been recommened by Your Old C**p Website.

  • Harry has spoken to John Gibson of The Scotsman about dressing up, saying:

On rare occasions Magda (his wife) and I go out to dinner. I’ll wear jeans and a T-shirt around the house but if I’m out in the evening I’ll put on a suit. I prefer the 1960s cut, narrow lapels and three buttons. I only wear the Harry Hill suit when I’m being Harry. It’s like a uniform.

  • The Financial Times has mentioned Harry’s involvement with The Dandy when looking at the finances of DC Thomson and Andy Fanton discussed Desperate Dan returning to the cover.
  • Speaking to Rich Pelley of The Guardian, Louie Spence said, when asked “Harry Hill likes you. Would you like to partner him on Strictly Come Dancing?” that he would love to and it was always good to have a doctor on hand.
  • Digital Spy has posted some extracts from Harry’s recent interview with the Sunday Times, discussing his views on bad TV.
  • Harry has been highly rated in a survey of 2000 people by the College of Optometrists, as reported in The Sun and Daily Record.

Enjoy!
