The Mirror are suggesting that Harry Hill may move to Channel 4 once his current contract with ITV ends.
They are suggesting that Harry has been in talks with Channel 4 boss Jay Hunt on deal for up to £2 million from April, with the deal including a sketch show and a movie.
The article quotes a source saying:
Harry has lots of ideas and fancies doing something different for a while, especially his own film. That doesn’t really fit in with ITV’s plans for him so he is interested in doing a deal with Channel 4. They have offered him big budgets and a lot of creative freedom to make what he wants, and that’s what attracts him to the offer more than the pay cheque. He has been earning millions with ITV for years so it is not all about the money. For Harry it’s all about doing projects he loves so it seems almost certain he’ll head to Channel 4. And all his fans would love to see a Harry Hill movie.
It was suggested that the film would be shown on the channel as well as possibly appearing in the cinema and on DVD. The sketch show would start in November.
This new rumour does contradict with an article last month saying that Harry’s contract runs until July and also ITV’s Peter Fincham saying that he was “confident Harry Hill will work with ITV in [the] future”.
As we at Harry Hill Fansite have said before, take this with a pinch of salt – until it has been confirmed, it may or may not be true! Especially as it has come out on the same day as the new series starts…
