Harry Hill has sent in a joke for a new charity book.
Alongside Harry, the likes of Nick Clegg, former pupil Dominic West, The Killers, Kate Rusby and more have provided jokes for a charity joke book from the pupils at Westbourne School, Sheffield. The book was the winning entry in St Luke’s Hospice’s Biz Kids competition, with the school winning £100 for the pupil’s businesses
The book has raised £2500 for St Luke’s
On the event, Fran Morley, St Luke’s community fundraising manager, commented:
This was our first Biz Kids event and the response was astonishing. The children were determined to make their ideas work and all their fundraising projects were fantastic money raisers. Every one of them was a real winner, but in the end the jokers definitely had the last laugh and raised the most money.
Angela Bywater, marketing manager at Westbourne, added:
Everybody needs a laugh, particularly in the current climate and the children have raised a smile and money for a great cause.
The hospice is trying to raise £4 million per year to stay open and also aiming to get £5 million to rebuild its impatient unit.
